Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy — Weight Pocket

Effective date: October 2, 2026

Version: 2.2.0 — Last updated: October 2, 2026

1. What this policy is

This is the consumer health data privacy policy of JP Medicina de la Montaña LLC ("we"), the operator of Weight Pocket, under the Washington My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370 and the health-data provisions of the Connecticut Data Privacy Act. It is deliberately limited to what those laws require. Everything else about how we handle your data is in our full Privacy Policy at https://weightpocket.com/privacy#consumer-health, which says the same things in more detail.

"Consumer health data" means personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and that identifies your past, present or future physical or mental health status.

2. What consumer health data we collect, and why

We collect only what the features you use need. Every item comes from you, from a device platform you authorise or, on iPhone, from the phone's own step counter, and each is used only for the purpose stated:

  • Weight and body measurements — to track your progress.
  • Medication and injection records (type, dose, brand, schedule, dose history, injection site) — for reminders and your dose history.
  • Symptoms, energy, pain, injection reactions and the notes you write — to show trends and, if you connected an educator, to support coaching.
  • Meals, nutrition and water — to log food and compute your goals.
  • Exercise, steps and active minutes — to track activity.
  • Device health data (steps, sleep, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, body weight) from Apple Health or Health Connect, and steps from your iPhone's own step counter — to fill in activity, recovery and your daily check-in.
  • Meal and product photos — sent to an AI provider to recognise the food or the product and never stored on our servers; the photo file stays on your phone.
  • Your health-focus mode and nutrition goals — to personalise the app.
  • Consent records (type, date and policy version) — to prove that we asked.

We never collect consumer health data for advertising, and we never buy it from anyone.

3. Where it comes from

  • From you, when you type it, choose it or take a photo in the app.
  • From Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), only if you authorise them, read-only.
  • From your iPhone's own step counter, for steps, only if you allow it.
  • From nowhere else. We do not obtain consumer health data from data brokers, from other apps or from your healthcare providers.

4. What we share, and with whom

We share consumer health data only as follows. We have no affiliates.

  • Google Cloud / Firebase (Google LLC) — our service provider, which stores and processes all of the data above so that the app works. It acts under our instructions and a Business Associate Agreement.
  • Your connected educator (coach), only if you choose to connect one, only after you accept the notice that describes what they will see (our Privacy Policy §7 lists it field by field), and read-only. The educator, and any organisation they work for, may keep what they saw under their own policies.
  • Google Gemini (Google LLC) — receives the meal photo you take, your language, the names of foods you logged recently and of products in your pantry, the hour of the day and your country, to recognise the meal — only with your separate AI consent.
  • OpenAI, L.L.C. — receives the product-label photo you take, or a list of product names with their rating band, to read the label or write shopping guidance — only with your separate AI consent.

We share nothing else with anyone else, and no consumer health data ever goes to an advertising, analytics or data-broker service.

5. We do not sell consumer health data

We have never sold consumer health data and we do not sell it. Because a sale would require a separate, specific valid authorisation signed by you, and because we do not sell, we neither seek nor rely on any such authorisation.

6. Your rights, and how to exercise them

You have the right to confirm whether we collect, share or sell consumer health data about you and to access it; to withdraw your consent; to delete your consumer health data; and to receive a list of the third parties with whom we shared it. You exercise them in the app or by email:

  • See what we hold about you: Settings → Privacy → Export My Data.
  • Withdraw AI consent: Settings → Privacy → AI data processing.
  • Stop sharing with your educator: Settings → your coach → Disconnect.
  • Stop reading from Apple Health, Health Connect or your step counter: your phone's system settings.
  • Delete it all: Settings → System → Delete Account. Deleting your account deletes your consumer health data.
  • Anything else, or if you cannot use the app: write to support@weightpocket.com.

We respond within 45 days, extendable once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We may need to verify your identity first.

7. Appeals

If we decline to act on your request we will tell you why. You may appeal by replying to our response or by writing to support@weightpocket.com with the subject line "Health Data Appeal". We answer an appeal within 45 days. If we deny your appeal you may contact your state Attorney General.
