Delete from inside the app (recommended)
The fastest way. Your deletion is processed immediately by our automated erasure pipeline.
- Open Weight Pocket on your phone or tablet.
- Sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted, then confirm once more on the final warning screen. If you have been signed in for a long time, the app may first ask you to sign out and sign back in, for your security.
- Your account and all data are permanently erased within seconds.
Request deletion by email
If you no longer have access to the app or your device, you can request deletion via email. We will verify your identity, then process the deletion within 30 days.

- The email address associated with your Weight Pocket account.
- A statement confirming you understand the deletion is permanent and irreversible.
- (Optional) Approximate date you created the account, to help us verify identity.
- (Optional) Device(s) you used (iOS / Android), to help us verify the right account.
For security reasons, we may ask you to verify your identity by responding to a confirmation email sent to the registered address before we proceed with deletion. We will never delete an account based solely on an unverified request.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, we run a comprehensive erasure pipeline that permanently removes:
- Profile (name, email, photo, role)
- All weight, BMI, and biometric history
- All daily logs, symptoms, energy, mood
- All meals, food photos, nutrition data
- All medication records and injection history
- All AI chat history
- All behavioral data, nudges, and milestones
- All linked smart-scale and HealthKit/Health Connect data within our system
- Active subscription (auto-canceled, no further charges)
- Firebase Authentication account itself
⚠️ What may remain after deletion:
- Audit records. Every privileged action — including the deletion itself — is written to an append-only audit trail we must keep for 6 years under HIPAA § 164.530(j). These records hold your account ID and the action, never your health data, and they outlive your account by design.
- Data already shared with your linked educator (coach) may be retained by that educator, or by the organization they work for, under its own retention policy and applicable law.
- Backups are purged on a 35-day rolling basis; your data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 35 days after deletion before being overwritten.
How long it takes
In-app deletion: Immediate (typically under 10 seconds).
Email request: Up to 30 days (typically processed within 7 business days after identity verification).
Backup purge: Encrypted backups are overwritten within 35 days after primary deletion.

Export your data first. If you want to keep a copy of your weight history, meals, or medication logs, use Settings → Export My Data in the app to download a complete JSON archive before deleting. The download link is valid for 15 minutes, and you can complete one successful export every 24 hours — so export before you delete, not after.

Cancel App Store / Play Store subscriptions separately if needed. While our system deletes the billing records tied to your account, any active subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play must be canceled in your store's billing settings to prevent any further charges. See Terms § 5.

If you are linked to an educator (coach), contact them directly if you want them to also delete the records they hold about you. Their retention policy is independent of ours.
Don't want to delete completely?
If you only want to stop being charged or pause the app, you have lighter options:
- • Cancel your subscription in app Settings — your account stays; you keep Premium until the end of your billing period, then access ends (there is no free tier).
- • Sign out on all devices and stop using the app — your data stays for whenever you come back.
- • Withdraw AI consent in Settings to stop AI processing while keeping the app for tracking.
This deletion process is governed by our Privacy Policy § 7 and Terms of Service § 16.
